We prefer glass bottles for storage of BEV quality water—but it is not the best choice to store water for emergency situations for obvious reasons.

Plastics manufacturing has greatly improved and leaching of contaminants is no longer an issue with high quality polycarbonates, making them an excellent alternative to glass.

We prefer these 2-gallon refrigerator bottles that ship complete with lids, spigots, washers. Much easier to manage than 3 or 5 gallon bottles, the wide mouth tops and molded handles make these easy to fill and carry. The rectangular shape provides for convenient storage without wasted space.

(While plastics have greatly improved, we still strongly recommend you do not allow these bottles to be exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods due to the degradative effects of ultra-violet radiation.)
